Sand Drags - Motorcycles, Quads, Snowmobiles!
SAND DRAGS Return to Billings Motorcycle Club.
BMC hosted Sand Drags on June 8, 2008 for motorcycles, quads and snowmobiles. The drag race was held on a 300' sand, two lane drag strip located along the east side of the BMC property (near the Big Sky Challenge Hill Climb hill). Over 70 entries competed in 14 classes. For BMC's first year return to hosting dirt / sand drags, the event was a huge success and enjoyed by all. Check out the Misc section of the Photos area for still shots of some of the high horsepower machines.
Thank you to all of the competitors and spectators who came to the 2008 event.
The two 2010 Motorcycle and ATV Sand Drag events are all about the size of the engine and quickest to the finish lights. Riders will pit their souped up motorcycles, ATVs and super-modified snowmobiles against one another to see who will have the fastest time off the line.
The Billings Motorcycle Club sand drag track features a 300-ft sand drag with two lines of improved racing. Classes for virtually everything are offered, from little 50cc dirt bikes to the huge hill climb motorcycles with 110-1600cc engines to snowmobiles and super-modified quads. Hardcore quad racers will be on hand with stock, modified and superstock setups that are sure to wow the crowds. Even the more sedate folks will mix it up by racing their side-by-side utility vehicles down the line. A huge trophy is offered for the Anything Goes class which allows motorcycles to challenge sleds or ATVs because it is all about pure speed.
The competition is fun but serious. Spectators will have a full view of the action. Concessions are available and ample parking allows them to watch from a variety of vantage points. Remember to bring your lawn chairs because seating is very limited. Come out and see some of the most exciting drag racing offered under the big Montana Sky.
Gate Fee - $5.00 per person
